The beloved couple from Love Island USA is ready to tie the knot after announcing their engagement to the world. In a recent social media post, Bergersen, widely known by his nickname 'Bergie,' detailed the entire proposal.

On May 9, Bergersen shared a social media update revealing that he and Smith are now engaged. The post included a photo from the proposal, showcasing his elaborate decorations that made the moment even more special. The 26-year-old explained that he set up everything and proposed on May 3 in Fredericksburg, Texas. The proposal took place at Signor Vineyards, where Bergie had decorated the entire space with a floral arch. He got down on one knee to ask the question. The photo showed Smith, 28, wearing a white polka-dot dress, standing under the arch as the two smiled at each other while Bergie presented the ring in a white box.
In the post, Bergie detailed how he had been preparing for the proposal for over six months to make it as special as possible. He wrote, 'For our six-month anniversary, Taylor and I celebrated in Fredericksburg, Texas. Since then, Fredericksburg has held a place in our hearts. My mission with my proposal was for Taylor not to know when or where I was going to ask that four-word question. In my case, it was five because I asked, 'Will You Marry Me Please?' (I blacked out).'

Bergie also opened up about the challenges the couple endured over the past months to make their relationship work. These included flying from one place to another to meet, as well as dealing with 'long distance, PT school, and unemployment.' He shared that they frequently used FaceTime to stay connected. Bergie concluded his post by saying, 'Writing now and reflecting — HOLY COW! So many split-second decisions that led me to Taylor. Coming home one fateful night and filling out the Love Island application, having the producers choose me of all people, VOTING MYSELF OFF DAY ONE and getting the opportunity to come back, and having America keep me in that villa by any means necessary. For those unaware, the couple first met on Love Island USA season 5 in 2023. They competed throughout the show and finished in third place. They have been together ever since.
