A local shoe trader in Ludhiana has been booked for the second time after allegedly posting objectionable and insulting content on social media, targeting his wife and her family. This incident follows a previous case where he was booked for allegedly morphing pictures of his wife's minor niece amid an ongoing family dispute.
Fresh FIR Registered
The police have registered a fresh First Information Report (FIR) against the accused under Sections 74 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Additionally, he faces charges under Sections 67 and 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, which deal with publishing obscene material in electronic form.
Details of the Complaint
According to the complaint filed by the accused's brother-in-law, the marital dispute led to his sister leaving the trader to live at her parental home. Since then, the accused has been continuously harassing the family, eventually uploading abusive content against his wife and mother-in-law on his social media account.
The complainant further stated that the trader went as far as uploading his own picture on social media, morphing it in an insulting manner to target the family. The accused has not been arrested yet, and investigations are ongoing.
Background of the Case
This is not the first time the trader has been booked for such offenses. In an earlier case, he was accused of morphing pictures of his wife's minor niece, which led to legal action. The repeated incidents highlight the severity of the family dispute and the misuse of social media for harassment.
Authorities are now looking into the matter to prevent further escalation. The brother-in-law has urged the police to take strict action against the accused, who continues to pose a threat to the family's safety and dignity.
