Maharashtra Cyber Arrests Man in Akshay Kumar Daughter Case

The Maharashtra Cyber department has arrested a person in connection with the cyber harassment case involving Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's daughter, Nitara Kumar. According to IANS, Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra Cyber, Yashasvi Yadav, confirmed the development and stated that the accused has been taken into custody after investigation.

Incident Overview

Officials reported that Nitara was allegedly targeted while playing an online game. She received inappropriate messages, including a demand for nude photographs. The information reached authorities through Akshay Kumar after his daughter reported the incident at home.

Cyber Police on Case Breakthrough

Speaking during a cyber awareness session at R.D. National College in Mumbai, ADG Yadav recounted the actor's shocking story. He said, 'He (Akshay Kumar) had a very shocking story to share with us. He said that his own daughter was being sextorted. The girl was very brave and informed her parents. Through her parents, we received this information, and that is how we handled the case.' Yadav added that the case exemplifies how quickly online interactions can escalate into cybercrime risks.

Akshay Kumar Recounts Shocking Incident Involving Daughter

During the session, officials played an old clip of Akshay Kumar where the actor narrated the incident publicly in October 2025. He said, 'I would like to share a small incident with you, which happened at my home a few months ago. My daughter was playing a video game. There are some video games that you can play with someone, you are playing with an unknown stranger.' He explained how the conversation started normally before turning inappropriate. 'When you are playing, you get messages like 'Thank you, that was great' or 'You are doing so good'. Suddenly, the person asked, 'Where are you from?' She said, 'Mumbai'. Then everything was normal again,' he said. The actor further added, 'Then a message came, 'Are you male or female?' She replied, 'Female'. After that, he sent a message asking, 'Can you send me a nude picture of yours?' My daughter switched off the game immediately and told my wife.'

Akshay Kumar Raises Alarm

Akshay Kumar stressed how such incidents can lead to bigger dangers online. 'This is how things begin. This is also a part of cybercrime. People and children get carried away. Extortion money has to be given. There are many cases of suicides. In the digital world, it is very important that our children learn about this,' he said. The actor had also urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis earlier to introduce cybercrime awareness classes in schools.

Cyber Awareness Push Across Colleges

Maharashtra Cyber also organised a special awareness session at R.D. National College to educate students about online safety. The session focused on issues like online financial frauds, social media security, phishing attacks, and cyber bullying, urging students to adopt safer digital practices in an increasingly vulnerable online ecosystem.
