In the interview, the 'Premalu' star opened up about her acting style. She stated, "I remind myself that I am there for a reason. Once the camera rolls, it is about the character." Thoughts on 'Premalu 2' and Character Future

Addressing ongoing discussions about 'Premalu 2', Mamitha shared her interpretation of her character Reenu's possible future with Sachin. She said, "I think Reenu and Sachin will find their way back to each other. They would figure out a way to work out their long-distance relationship."

Earlier Statement on 'Premalu' Success

In an earlier 2024 interview with ETimes, Mamitha spoke about how relatable her character in 'Premalu' felt. "Sona has definitely influenced me, but it's with Reenu, whom I align more. Of the roles I have played so far, Reenu is similar to me in more ways than one," she explained. She also detailed her decision to join the project: "That, and also the fact that I get to work with Girish chettan (director) again. He narrated me the story once he completed the first draft, and I was immediately impressed."

In another conversation with TOI City, she reflected on the unexpected success of the film. "We thought 'Premalu' might be a hit only in Malayalam. But when it was released, the response was way bigger than what any of us expected. It makes me happy that everyone who was part of the film got recognised. I wouldn't have been this happy if I had alone got recognition," she said.

She also discussed her emotional and professional balance in life. "Emotionally, I'm a go-with-the-flow person. If I feel like crying, I cry. I won't hold back. But, career-wise, I'm not a go-with-the-flow person. I believe that we will never be able to monitor our growth if we follow that mindset. When I'm clear about what films to do next, my growth will also be clear. So, we have to simultaneously plan as well as go with the flow," she explained. On her inspirations, she added, "I look up to Urvashi ma'am and Shobana ma'am. They are both iconic actresses and I love them both. Urvashi ma'am's versatility is impeccable."

Meanwhile, Mamitha Baiju is also part of the upcoming 'Jana Nayagan', where she stars alongside Vijay.
