A man was murdered in the busy Alankar Market area of Akola on Friday evening, allegedly due to long-standing personal enmity linked to a love marriage.
Arrest and Investigation
The Local Crime Branch arrested the accused, Badshah Sawant Paroche (30), late Friday night. He was produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody till May 20. Four teams have been deployed to trace other accused persons involved in the crime.
Details of the Incident
According to police, Rahul Kalu Sasare, a resident of Vijay Nagar under the jurisdiction of Ramdas Peth police station, had a love marriage two and a half years ago, which angered certain people. On Friday evening around 8:30 pm, the accused allegedly entered into an altercation with Rahul and later stabbed him with sharp weapons.
Locals and Rahul's friends rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and multiple teams are working to identify and arrest the remaining accused, a police officer said.
