Italy's Prime Minister Georgia Meloni arrived at the summit venue accompanied by her nine-year-old daughter, Ginevra Giambruno. A viral clip shows Meloni greeting officials and delegation members as she stepped off her plane. Her daughter stood quietly behind her, appearing shy in front of cameras and staying close to her mother throughout the moment.
Who is Ginevra Giambruno?
Ginevra is the daughter of Georgia Meloni and Italian television journalist Andrea Giambruno. The couple began their relationship after meeting at a TV studio in 2014, when Giambruno was a presenter for Mediaset, part of the MFE media group owned by the heirs of the late Silvio Berlusconi, a former prime minister and Meloni ally.
The pair welcomed Ginevra in 2016 and remained together for nearly a decade before a public split in October 2023. Meloni announced the separation via a social media post following the circulation of videos showing Giambruno making inappropriate remarks. In the clips, Giambruno propositioned a co-host for a "threesome or foursome," leading to the suspension of his television show. The video, shot during a commercial break in front of a live audience, was posted on the program's social media accounts and website. Giambruno was seen walking around the set and heard asking a female co-host if she had a boyfriend. When she said yes, he responded, "Why didn't I meet you before!"
Meloni's Statement on Separation
Confirming the end of their relationship, Meloni wrote: "My relationship with Andrea Giambruno, which lasted almost ten years, ends here. I thank him for the splendid years we spent together, for the difficulties we went through, and for giving me the most important thing in my life, which is our daughter Ginevra." She also stated, "Our paths have diverged for some time, and the time has come to acknowledge it. I will defend what we were, I will defend our friendship, and I will defend, at all costs, a seven-year-old girl who loves her mother and loves her father, as I was unable to love mine." Reflecting on how her political career might be affected, Meloni remarked, "All those who hoped to weaken [her] by attacking [her] personal life should know that however much the drop of water tries to dig out the stone, the stone remains stone and the drop is only water."
Rumors with Elon Musk
Since her appointment as PM in October 2022, Meloni has been linked with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In 2024, when Musk presented Meloni with the Global Citizen Award from the Atlantic Council think tank in New York, a photo of the two looking at each other went viral, sparking dating rumors. However, Musk denied any romance, saying, "I was there with my Mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni."
