Prince William appeared on the UK's Heart Breakfast radio show with hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on May 22, where he was directly asked whether an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored July wedding had landed at Kensington Palace. The Prince laughed it off with a "no comment," before adding: "I'm hoping, and I'm sure there might be an invitation around, but we'll see." Swift and Kelce are reportedly set to marry on July 13 in New York City.
Will Prince William and Kate Attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding?
Prince William's interview stood out because it revealed how closely the royal family has followed Swift's rise over the years. The Prince of Wales was not simply answering a passing celebrity question. He spent several minutes discussing how much his children enjoy Swift's music, especially Princess Charlotte.
"Charlotte, my daughter, and Louis, to be fair, Charlotte, particularly, is obsessed by Taylor Swift," he said while requesting Swift's song "Opalite" during the radio segment.
That connection has become more public over the past year. William attended Swift's Eras Tour stop at Wembley Stadium in June 2024 with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The concert took place one day before his 42nd birthday, and the royal later shared photos from the night, including a backstage selfie featuring Kelce and Swift. During the interview, William also reflected on the scale of the Eras Tour experience itself.
"We went to see her on her Eras Tour and it was amazing," he said. "We were watching from up there, which is quite a long way from where the actual action is happening but the atmosphere was so incredible, you could actually feel the floors shaking when they were all dancing, it was brilliant."
The relationship between William and Swift goes back even further. In 2013, the prince famously joined Swift and Jon Bon Jovi on stage at a charity gala at Kensington Palace for a performance of "Livin' on a Prayer." That moment, once viewed as a lighthearted royal surprise, now feels like an early chapter in an unlikely celebrity connection that has lasted more than a decade.
Reports continue to circulate that Swift and Kelce could marry in July, though neither has publicly confirmed wedding plans. William's comments did not settle anything. But his reaction made one thing clear: if an invitation does arrive at Kensington Palace, it probably will not be ignored.
