Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda and actress Lin Laishram, who tied the knot in a beautiful traditional Meitei ceremony in Imphal in November 2023, have shared joyous news with their fans. The couple announced earlier this week that they are expecting their first child together, marking a new chapter in their lives.
A Surreal and Joyful Journey into Motherhood
In an exclusive conversation, Lin Laishram, renowned for her roles in films such as Mary Kom, Umrika, and Rangoon, expressed her elation and awe at stepping into motherhood. She described the experience as profoundly different from anything she has ever known. The actress is currently filled with a quiet joy and a deep appreciation for the miracle of life growing within her.
"I'm feeling great!" Lin shared. "It's so different from anything I've experienced, and I'm in awe of how the body creates life. It's surreal to go through it all emotionally, mentally, and physically the most. I've started appreciating mothers so much more." She added that her pregnancy has been smooth so far, with minimal morning sickness, and she is learning to prioritize rest without guilt.
Randeep Hooda's Supportive Role and Strengthened Bond
When asked about her husband's reaction, Lin's response was brimming with happiness. She revealed that Randeep Hooda is loving every moment of this new phase. The news took a little time to sink in for both, but Randeep has been exceptionally supportive, actively preparing for parenthood and prioritizing their growing family.
"Oh, he's loving every moment!" Lin smiled. "He's been amazing prepping himself, supporting me, and being there for everything I need. We mothers somehow prepare ourselves because we feel the changes, but for fathers they go through it all as an observant — and Randeep really has been prioritizing 'US' in the midst of everything. It's great to see him in this space."
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing the Future
The journey to this happy announcement wasn't without its trials. Lin candidly spoke about a miscarriage the couple experienced earlier this year, which was a difficult period for them both. This makes the current pregnancy feel like an even more precious gift.
"To accept things as they are. After a miscarriage earlier this year, it was a tough space for us both," she said. "However, we're just deeply grateful and keeping our fingers crossed — and this is nothing short of a beautiful gift!"
The couple is eagerly counting down to their baby's due date in March 2026. While they have playfully discussed names, nothing is finalized yet. However, planning the nursery has become a favorite shared activity. Randeep is actively involved, constantly sending Lin ideas and articles to help them prepare for their little one's arrival.
"The baby's room is definitely our favourite topic though," Lin concluded with excitement. "We are really enjoying this since it's our first… there is no space for anything else other than happiness, joy and the anticipation of the biggest delight of our lives."
