A 25-year-old director of a prominent real estate firm in Pimpri Chinchwad tragically died on Thursday morning after falling into a 300-foot-deep gorge while posing for a photograph at Lohagad Fort near Lonavla, approximately 52 kilometers from the city. According to family members, he was scheduled to get married next month.

Lonavla Rural police inspector Dinesh Tayade stated, “The director, Ketan Vishal Agarwal, was with his fiancée, friends, and relatives when he lost his balance and slipped into the gorge while posing for a photograph. His fiancée’s birthday is on Friday.”
Sunil Gaikwad of Shivdurga Mitra informed TOI that the accident occurred around 10:30 am. “Rescue teams arrived at the spot within 30 minutes of being alerted. However, it took several hours to retrieve the body, which was later handed over to the police and sent for a postmortem,” he said.
Background of the Victim
Inspector Tayade added that Agarwal had recently returned from abroad after completing his postgraduate studies and had joined his father’s real estate business as a director. “His family members told us that a palace in Jaipur was booked for the wedding,” the officer noted.
The police have registered a case of accidental death. The incident has left the family and friends in shock, as they were looking forward to the upcoming wedding celebrations.
