Former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant and wife of the late comedian Sudhi, Renu Sudhi, has publicly revealed that she is battling cancer. In an interview with the YouTube channel Mainstream One, she shared that she is fighting stage four breast cancer. Although rumors about her health had circulated previously, this marks the first time Renu has spoken openly about her condition.
Renu's Emotional Revelation
In the interview, Renu stated, "Yes, I have cancer. I thought I shouldn't come in front of the camera and become emotional. But it's time to reveal it. I am fighting breast cancer, and the third stage is almost over. Cancer has spread from my breast to the heart muscle and to the lungs too. For my loved ones and people like me fighting the disease, I wanted to stand as a role model."
Early Signs Ignored
Renu disclosed that she first noticed a lump in her breast at the age of 15 but did not pay proper attention to it. "I had noticed a lump in my breast when I was 15. Then, the doctor told me to pay attention to it as it could become cancerous in the future. Since I had an appendicitis surgery then, I tended to ignore it for fear of pain. It was years later, after Sudhi's demise, that I noticed a change in shape and consulted the doctor again. The doctor suggested a mammography, and we went for a biopsy. Yes, the result said that I have cancer," she said in the video.
