Actress Samantha recently attended the Chennai promotional event for her upcoming film 'Engal Thangam,' the Tamil version of the Telugu film 'Maa Inti Bangaram,' and shared her heartfelt thoughts about Tamil cinema. Speaking to the media and fans, she revealed that one regret has stayed with her over the years: not doing enough Tamil films.
Samantha Confirms Plans for Tamil Cinema Comeback
Samantha said Chennai has always felt like home to her, and returning to familiar places in the city brings back many memories. She admitted that she often thinks she should have acted in more Tamil movies during her career and hopes to change that in the coming years.
As reported by Nakkheeran, the actress made it clear that she is eager to return to Tamil cinema with meaningful projects. Samantha said, "I still feel I should have done more Tamil films. That regret is still there. But I haven't yet exhausted myself." She further added, "I will surely do it if I get good storylines and good characters." Samantha has also spoken to the directors and said, "I am looking for good roles in Tamil films. I would like you to give me good roles in your films." These remarks by Samantha have raised the expectations of all her fans.
Samantha Thanks Fans for Their Constant Support
Samantha also thanked her dedicated fans who have been supporting her throughout despite having few film releases in Tamil cinema in the past couple of years. Samantha said, "Even though there haven't been many Tamil movies for me or releases for that matter, fan support hasn't dwindled down. I am always grateful for that." Calling Tamil Nadu her home, she added, "Coming to Chennai always feels like coming back home." The actress said the affection she receives from Tamil audiences gives her strength and motivates her to work harder.
Producer Samantha Learns the Challenges Behind Filmmaking
Apart from acting, Samantha has also stepped into film production with 'Engal Thangam.' Reflecting on the experience, she said, "I understood how difficult it is to make and release a film. And the last few steps were very tough for all of us." No matter what the difficulty levels were, she feels the whole group has succeeded in making a great film. Samantha concluded her speech on a very emotional note by saying, "Tamil cinema is my second home. I hope this film makes my second home proud."
