Suriya Fans Disappointed as Karuppu Screenings Canceled

Suriya's massive fan base had been eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated release of the fantasy action drama 'Karuppu'. However, their excitement turned to disappointment following the cancellation of screenings. Outside theatres, fans who had been in a festive mood were left frustrated and confused as they could not find any updates about the film's release.

Fans Gather Outside Cinema Houses

In a video shared by Mubaraksvlog online, fans of Suriya can be seen gathered outside theatres in Puducherry from early Thursday morning to celebrate the release of 'Karuppu'. Many came wearing custom-made T-shirts and carried confetti, crackers, dhols, and flower garlands. Some fans also brought milk packets to perform special celebrations in front of the actor's posters before the first show.

The celebrations suddenly stopped after fans were informed that several shows of 'Karuppu' had been canceled. Many people who had arrived hours early were left confused after finding the theatre gates locked. Some fans said they only learned about the cancellation after entering the theatre premises. Fans who were dancing moments earlier were later seen standing outside the theatres waiting for updates. There were no immediate announcements from the production team, which made the situation more frustrating for many people gathered there.

Protests Erupt Over Cancellation

As the delay continued, fans started raising slogans against producer S R Prabhu and production banner Dream Warrior Pictures. The confusion slowly turned into protests outside several cinema halls in Puducherry. Even after the cancellations, many fans stayed outside theatres hoping the shows would begin later in the day. The protests continued for some time as people demanded clear information about the release.

Now, as per the latest updates, PVR and INOX cinema recently shared social media posts that the movie will be screened in their theatres from tomorrow onwards, on Friday, May 15.
