Mollywood actor Indrans has built an extensive filmography, seamlessly transitioning between comedy and serious roles. Despite facing body-shaming comments early in his career, the National Award-winning actor captivated audiences with his intense performances following his 2021 film 'Home'.
Suriya Praises Indrans
During the audio launch event for 'Karuppu' held recently, lead actor Suriya expressed deep admiration for Indrans' body of work. He also noted that both actors received National Awards around the same period. As reported by Reporter Live, Suriya opened up about Indrans' long journey in cinema during his speech.
Suriya Opens Up on Indrans' Body Shaming
Suriya highlighted how the actor faced criticism and body shaming early in his career, yet continued to grow through his stunning performances. “I received a National Award, and he also received a National Award. I have been amazed watching his performances. For a long time, he was subjected to body shaming. If you search ‘Indrans movie acting’ on YouTube, you will find different characters from his films. He started as a costume designer, then took up small roles, and now he has become a National Award-winning hero. He studied only up to the 4th standard. Later, he went back and even wrote his 7th standard exam. Dreams do not have an expiry date,” Suriya said.
'Karuppu' Gears Up for Theatrical Release
'Karuppu,' starring Suriya in the lead role and directed by RJ Balaji, is scheduled for theatrical release on May 14. A major highlight of the project is the reunion of Suriya and actress Trisha after nearly two decades. The film also features a notable ensemble cast including Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Anagha Maya Ravi, Shivada, and Supreeth Reddy in important roles. Meanwhile, Indrans recently appeared in the multistarrer film 'Patriot', portraying a police officer.
