Dumka: In a disturbing incident in Jharkhand's Jamtara district, two men have been arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a 17-year-old intermediate student. The crime took place on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, when the accused entered the girl's house while she was asleep in the courtyard, threatened her, and forcibly took her to a nearby riverbank.
Arrest and Investigation
Following a complaint lodged on Friday, police swiftly apprehended the two suspects, both in their 20s and residents of the same village as the victim. The girl, who comes from a marginal farmer's family, was left unconscious on the riverbank after the assault. She regained consciousness in the morning and returned home, where she narrated her ordeal to her family. A complaint was subsequently filed at the local police station.
Medical Examination and Custody
The victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination and treatment. Her condition is being monitored by doctors. Police officer Pradip Kumar confirmed that both accused have been sent to custody. “She was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment, where her condition is being monitored.
