Val Kilmer, the iconic actor known for his roles in a wide range of Hollywood films, has been labeled 'the worst human being' by director Adam Marcus, who worked with him on the 2008 film 'Conspiracy.' A year after the actor's death from pneumonia at age 65, Marcus took to Threads to share a scathing post recalling their time on set, which has since been deleted.
Adam Marcus Criticizes Val Kilmer
Adam Marcus and Val Kilmer collaborated on the action-thriller 'Conspiracy,' which also starred Jennifer Esposito. In his since-deleted Threads post, the 58-year-old director wrote, '#MicroIntellectMonday to that time when I directed that guy. The guy who played Iceman and Doc Holiday [sic]. You know the one. Here's me and the Putz working it out on the set of Conspiracy,' as reported by Entertainment Weekly. He attached an image of the two of them together.
Marcus anticipated backlash, addressing those who might object to speaking ill of the deceased. He claimed that if Kilmer had done 'one-tenth of what he did on my set today, he would have been cancelled in a blink.' Concluding his post, he called Val Kilmer the 'Worst human being I've ever known… and that is really saying something.'
Directors Who Previously Spoke About Val Kilmer's Reputation
Marcus is not the first director to publicly criticize Kilmer. In a 1996 interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Joel Schumacher described the 'Tombstone' star as 'childish and impossible' and a 'psychologically disturbed human being' after working with him on 'Batman Forever.' Similarly, director John Frankenheimer stated that he would never work with Kilmer again following their collaboration on 'The Island of Dr. Moreau.'
