If you have ever been a fan of the One Direction pop boy band, then you surely are a fan of Zayn Malik. One of the most adored and fashionable pop icons of all time, Zayn Malik enjoyed an insane fan-following during the Tumblr and Twitter days. But if you think that he's gone for good, then you're mistaken, as the popstar is back in action and is nailing it in his latest fashion outing, which is further proof of his enduring style influence.
For his 'Konnakol' tour stop in Mexico, Zayn Malik leaned into his signature dark, understated aesthetic and chose an Indian designer who transformed the piece into a statement of rebellion and confidence. He started with a sharply cut jacket that came with an asymmetric zip closure that lent an almost biker-inspired edge. The subtle embellishments on the sleeves added the right grunge texture, which really stood out on the stage and under the glittering lights. Underneath the jacket, he wore a simple black tank top and allowed his extensive chest tattoos to become a part of his look.
Then came the iconic styling
If you think that Zayn simply wore a classic pair of sneakers and called it a day, then you're mistaken, as he did much more than that. He styled the look with a stack of silver chains and small stud earrings and chose a close-cropped buzz cut, which further reinforced his rugged yet polished persona. He sealed the deal with a pair of relaxed-fit black trousers and wore a pair of black, comforting shoes with a classic red base, which looked absolutely hunky and carried an aura. The designer duo shared their two cents on the look, on Instagram. Their post read, "The Vice jacket felt particularly right for Zayn because his style has always balanced sharpness with ease. There's a certain masculinity to the way he dresses - understated, textural, and never overworked - which aligns naturally with our design language. We've dressed Zayn before, and what continues to make him relevant is his ability to bring together refinement and rebellion. Whether he's on stage or off-duty, there's an authenticity to his style that makes every piece he wears feel effortless."
The result is a unique menswear moment that not only highlights the craftsmanship of the Indian designer duo but also slowly reinforces the status of Zayn Malik as a global style icon.
