The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commemorated 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led central government by organizing a comprehensive cleanliness drive across 256 organisational mandals in the national capital on Wednesday. The initiative saw active participation from Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), municipal councillors, and party functionaries, who collectively cleaned markets, temples, parks, and other public spaces.
Campaign Launch by Harsh Malhotra
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra launched the campaign and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness. He urged citizens to refrain from littering and commended the efforts of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and private sanitation workers. Malhotra highlighted that cleanliness has evolved into a nationwide movement following Prime Minister Modi's call for a Swachh Bharat in 2014.
Community Participation and Impact
The drive aimed to foster a sense of civic responsibility among residents. Party workers and local volunteers joined hands to sweep streets, remove debris, and beautify public areas. The initiative also served as a reminder of the government's commitment to sanitation and hygiene under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
