The Telugu film 'Andhra King Taluka', starring Ram Pothineni and Bhagyashri Borse, is preparing for its digital debut after a theatrical run that garnered positive critical response. The movie, which hit cinemas on 27th November, is now headed to a major over-the-top (OTT) platform, expanding its reach to a wider pan-Indian audience.
Netflix Announces Digital Premiere Date
Streaming giant Netflix has officially acquired the digital rights for 'Andhra King Taluka'. The platform made the announcement on its social media channels, sharing a promotional poster with a catchy caption that read, "Ippati dhaaka star biopics ey chusam, ippudu its time for a fan biopic." This sets the tone for the film's unique narrative perspective.
Subscribers will be able to stream the film starting November 25, 2025. In a move to cater to diverse linguistic audiences, Netflix will offer the movie in its original Telugu version alongside dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Plot and Star-Studded Cast
Directed by Mahesh Babu P, 'Andhra King Taluka' presents an interesting twist on the biopic genre. Ram Pothineni plays the lead role of Sagar, an ardent fan of a cinema superstar named Surya, portrayed by renowned Kannada actor Upendra. Bhagyashri Borse essays the female lead as Mahalaxmi, Sagar's love interest.
The plot revolves around superstar Surya, who finds himself in a financial crunch, needing Rs 3 crore to complete his landmark 100th film. His biggest fan, Sagar, steps in to help anonymously, depositing the substantial sum into Surya's bank account without revealing his identity. Intrigued and grateful, Surya embarks on a journey to meet this mysterious benefactor in person, leading to a heartwarming and entertaining story billed as a true fan biopic.
The film boasts a strong supporting cast including Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Sindhu Tolani in key roles. The music for the film has been composed by the duo Vivek-Mervin.
Theatrical Run and Box Office Collections
While the film received appreciative reviews from critics upon its big-screen release, its commercial performance was described as decent. According to data from trade analyst Sacnilk, 'Andhra King Taluka' managed to earn over Rs 23.49 crore from the Indian box office. Its global collections stood at approximately Rs 32.43 crore worldwide.
The OTT release on Netflix is expected to give the film a significant second wind, allowing it to connect with viewers who may have missed it in theatres. The multi-language dubbing strategy aligns perfectly with Netflix's pan-India content approach, potentially boosting the film's viewership far beyond its core Telugu-speaking region.
