Mastiii 4 Digital Debut: Zee5 Release Date, Star Cast & Box Office Flop
Mastiii 4 OTT Release on Zee5 from Jan 16, 2026

The fourth chapter of the popular adult comedy franchise, 'Mastiii', is gearing up for a second life. After failing to draw crowds to cinemas, the film featuring the original trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani is now set for its digital premiere. The makers are hoping for a warmer reception on an over-the-top (OTT) platform.

Mastiii 4 OTT Release Date and Platform Confirmed

According to reports, 'Mastiii 4' will begin streaming on Zee5 from January 16, 2026. This move allows the film to reach a wider audience directly in their homes. Subscribers of the Zee5 platform will be able to watch the movie at no extra cost as part of their existing subscription plan. The digital debut marks a strategic shift for the film, which struggled to make a mark during its theatrical exhibition.

Star-Studded Cast and Disappointing Box Office Performance

Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, 'Mastiii 4' boasts a large ensemble cast. Alongside Deshmukh, Oberoi, and Shivdasani, the film features Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri, Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Shaad Randhawa, Natalia Janoszek, Tara Sumner, and Elnaaz Norouzi.

The movie hit theaters on November 21, 2025, but could not revive the adult comedy genre's fortunes on the big screen. Critics and audiences cited weak content as a primary reason for its lack of success. The financial outcome was stark: the film managed to collect only Rs 15.14 crore at the domestic box office against a reported production budget of Rs 40 crore, resulting in significant losses for its producers.

Franchise Legacy and Certification Challenges

The 'Masti' series began in 2004, followed by 'Grand Masti' in 2013 and 'Great Grand Masti' in 2016. The latest installment, like its predecessors, faced scrutiny from censors. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the film an 'A' certificate, restricting viewership to adults aged 18 and above. The board also mandated the muting of certain words and the removal of specific scenes before clearance.

The music, composed by Meet Bros and Sanjeev-Darshan with lyrics from Danish Sabri, Mellow D, Sanjeev Chaturvedi, and Meet Bros, also failed to connect with listeners and did not chart well. The digital release on Zee5 represents a final attempt to recover some of the investment and allow the franchise's fans a convenient way to consume the content.
