Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi is set to collaborate with director Bobby Kolli for his upcoming film, tentatively titled 'Mega 158'. The project is currently in the pre-production phase, and the cast has not yet been announced. Recent speculation suggested that Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor might be part of the film, but new reports have clarified the situation.
Anil Kapoor Not On Board
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, it has been confirmed that Anil Kapoor is not part of the film. The earlier rumors have been dismissed as baseless. If Kapoor had joined, this would have been his second Telugu project recently, as he is already set to appear alongside Jr NTR in an upcoming film directed by Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled 'Dragon'.
About Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli's Film
The film is speculated to be officially named 'Kakaji', though no official confirmation has been made by the makers. It is said to be backed by KVN Productions, which has faced challenges recently with two of its big-budget films—Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' and Yash's 'Toxic'—both delayed from their announced release windows. Vijay's film is entangled in a legal battle, while Yash's movie has also been pushed ahead. Despite these setbacks, the production house remains committed to backing the Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli project. Currently in pre-production, the film is expected to move to the next stage soon.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has other major projects lined up, including the big-budget socio-fantasy film 'Vishwambhara' and an untitled film with director Srikanth Odela, who is currently working on 'The Paradise' with Nani. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor was recently seen in the film 'Subedaar'.
