Mammootty continues to captivate audiences with his diverse and unconventional role choices. The veteran Malayalam superstar has been on a remarkable creative streak, constantly reinventing himself through films such as 'Brahmayugam', 'Kannur Squad', 'Kathal: The Core', and more. Now, he has teased something completely unexpected: a potential vampire role that has sparked excitement among fans.
Mammootty Confirms 'Lokah 2' and Drops Vampire Hint
According to a report by Reporter, Mammootty addressed media queries at a recent press conference for his upcoming film 'Patriot'. During the interaction, he confirmed his involvement in 'Lokah 2'. When a journalist asked, "Will Mammookka's vampire come?" the actor responded playfully, saying, "No need to be scared, it will come a little later." He further added that the project would "shock" audiences.
Playful Banter About Dulquer Salmaan
Mammootty also reminisced about his earlier experience with the first 'Lokah' film, recalling how Dulquer Salmaan had "tricked" him into signing on. This time, the seasoned actor had a witty comeback, joking that he would be the one doing the tricking now.
Vampire Film: Not a New Idea
The vampire concept is not entirely fresh. In a previous interview with Anupama Chopra, Mammootty had dropped a similar hint. Toward the end of their conversation, he asked, "Have you ever imagined me playing a vampire?" The question caught Chopra by surprise, and she inquired whether such a role could actually materialize. Mammootty simply replied, "Suspense." When she remarked that it would be a fantastic role, he smiled and said, "Insha Allah..."
'Patriot' Brings Legends Together
Meanwhile, Mammootty is gearing up for the release of 'Patriot', directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film features both Mammootty and Mohanlal in central roles, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Kunchacko Boban in key parts. 'Patriot' is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1.
