The film, which chronicles the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, features Deshmukh in the titular role. Prior to its release, there was skepticism among viewers regarding Deshmukh's portrayal of the founder of the Hindavi Swarajya. However, since the film hit theaters, the actor has managed to impress everyone with his compelling performance.

'Raja Shivaji' has successfully completed a week in theaters. The movie garnered Rs 33.9 crore in its first weekend at the box office. According to a Sacnilk report, on Day 7, the historical drama earned Rs 4 crore across 6,128 shows. Of this amount, Rs 1.25 crore came from its Hindi version, while the Marathi edition contributed Rs 2.75 crore.

With these figures, the total India gross collections of the film now stand at Rs 62.42 crore, and the India net earnings have reached Rs 52.65 crore.

'Raja Shivaji' is a passion project for Riteish Deshmukh, who not only stars in the film but also wrote and directed it. The movie features an ensemble cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Amole Gupte, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Genelia Deshmukh, and Fardeen Khan.

The cast also includes Jitendra Joshi, Vidya Balan, Mustaq Sheikh, Ashok Samarth, Suresh Vishwakarma, and Riteish and Genelia's sons – Riaan and Rahyl – among others.
