Jawan 2 Moves Past Concept Phase
According to reports, 'Jawan 2' has now moved beyond the concept phase, with the script locked after several months of development. A script and idea for the sequel had been in the works for a while, and a few weeks ago, the script was finalised. Shah Rukh Khan will begin work on the film after completing 'King'. The team is looking to secure an A-lister from the South Indian film industry to play the antagonist.
Shah Rukh Khan Likely to Reunite with Atlee
The sequel is expected to begin production next year, once again bringing together Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee after 'Jawan' emerged as a record-breaking blockbuster across markets. Khan is reportedly looking to expand the film's universe, which resonated widely with audiences for its scale and mass appeal. However, a formal announcement has yet to be made.
Jawan's Success
'Jawan', released in 2023, became a massive box office success, grossing over Rs 1,100 crore worldwide and ranking among the highest-grossing Indian films. The film featured an ensemble cast led by Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, with Deepika Padukone in a special appearance, alongside Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and others.
Atlee's Next Projects Before Jawan 2
Meanwhile, Atlee has been busy reinforcing his standing as a pan-India filmmaker. After 'Jawan's success, he has been developing multiple projects under his banner, largely focusing on big-scale entertainers. He is currently shooting 'Raaka', featuring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone.
