Vijay Raghavendra Returns as Seetharam in Highly Anticipated Sequel

Following the success of Seetharam Binoy: Case No. 18, Kannada cinema star Vijay Raghavendra is set to reprise his iconic role in the upcoming film Second Case of Seetharam. Directed by Devi Prasad Shetty, the movie is scheduled for release on February 20, marking a significant expansion of the Seetharam cinematic universe. This new chapter promises to deliver a deeper, more emotionally charged narrative that builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor.

A Role That Feels Like Therapy, Not Repetition

For Vijay Raghavendra, returning to the character of Seetharam is far from a monotonous experience. In a candid interview, the actor expressed his unique perspective on the role. "Playing Seetharam again does not feel repetitive to me. I believe certain roles are like therapy," he revealed. He emphasized that the sequel is not about being different for the sake of novelty but about exploring greater depth. "I won't say the movie is 'different'. It already has an established audience base from the first film. This chapter is deeper, more intense, and emotionally driven than before," Vijay explained.

Focus on Engagement Over Predictability in Thriller Genre

In an era where thrillers often rely heavily on shock value and twists, Vijay Raghavendra highlighted the team's distinct approach. "Over time, for regular thriller viewers, stories can become predictable. We didn't chase unpredictability just for its own sake. Instead, we ensured that the script and performances keep the audience engaged throughout," he stated. The actor also hinted at a key emotional shift in the storyline, noting that Benoy, a character from the first film, is no longer part of the narrative, which will resonate with fans. Despite this continuity, he assured that Second Case of Seetharam works effectively as a standalone film, focusing on Seetharam's personal growth and inner turmoil. "His silence carries turbulence — there's a storm beneath it," Vijay added, describing the character's evolution.

Collaborative Learning and Creative Involvement

The filming process proved to be a rich learning experience for Vijay Raghavendra, who worked alongside talented co-stars such as Usha Bhandari and Gopal Krishna Deshpande. "Acting in this film has been a learning process for me. Working with wonderful new actors and seasoned performers like Usha akka and Gopal sir was an educational journey from start to finish," he shared. Several scenes evolved through detailed on-set discussions, with Vijay even retaking shots based on their insights, resulting in some of the film's best moments.

Beyond acting, Vijay took on a more creative role behind the scenes. "With this film, I had the liberty to actively contribute to the writing, screenplay, and scene construction. That helped bring out Seetharam's emotions in a layered way," he said. Drawing inspiration from cinematic greats like The Bourne series and Martin Scorsese's works, he stressed that emotion remains the core strength of any crime-action thriller. "From them, I've learned that the most important aspect of a crime or action thriller is emotion," Vijay concluded, underscoring the film's heartfelt approach.
