That successful play was Indrajaalam, whose triumph Vinayan attributes primarily to actor Shashikumar from Kavalam. "From a distance, Shashikumar bore an uncanny resemblance to Mohanlal," Vinayan explained. To complement this, he also cast Sudarshan from Thiruvananthapuram, who shared a remarkable likeness to another Malayalam superstar, Mammootty.
The turning point came when a film producer watched multiple performances of Indrajaalam and approached Vinayan with a proposition about creating a film featuring Shashikumar.
