Ayush Shrivastava Opens Up About the Intense Role of Rudra in Jagadhatri

Ayush Shrivastava, known for his portrayal of Rudra in the popular television series Jagadhatri, has candidly shared the demanding nature of playing such a multifaceted character. He emphasizes that embodying Rudra is a daily challenge, requiring deep emotional investment and resilience.

The Emotional Toll and Preparation Process

Shrivastava revealed that Rudra is a very dark character for television, featuring multiple layers, vulnerabilities, and emotional complexities. He admitted that this role takes a significant emotional toll on him, but he finds it exhilarating to portray such a high-intensity, flawed individual. Unlike many actors who have distinct preparation routines, Shrivastava switches into character the moment he steps onto the set. However, he acknowledged the difficulty in switching off once he returns home, though he is making conscious efforts to manage this through practices like chanting and meditation.

Most Challenging Scene and Character Evolution

When asked about the most challenging scene in the current storyline, Shrivastava pointed to a sequence where Rudra is high, entering a musical trance and playing an imaginary piano while strategizing to remove JD from the house. This scene required tapping into an unknown darkness, something he doesn't consciously know how to access, but it naturally emerges during performance. He described Rudra as becoming extremely psychotic in his own zone, making it a particularly tough moment to film.

Initially, Rudra was depicted as a bratty, spoiled, and immoral son, but the character has evolved significantly over time. Shrivastava explained that the show later unveiled the reasons behind his behavior, including parental trauma, a soft inner child, and a lack of received love. There is also a softer side to Rudra, especially evident in his interactions with Tapasya. This evolution has transformed him into a more responsible figure, though not fully there yet, and definitely less reckless at times.

Gratitude to Fans and Future Aspirations

Shrivastava expressed immense gratitude to his fans, who have been absolutely amazing and phenomenal from day one. He noted that receiving so much love for a dark character like Rudra on television was somewhat unexpected, and he is nothing but thankful for their support.

Looking ahead, he hopes that the story and character continue to captivate the audience and keep him equally passionate about acting. This ongoing engagement is what he eagerly anticipates for the future of the series.
