Pardeep Singh Toor Opens Up About His Role in Kyunki Spin-off and Television Journey
Pardeep Singh Toor, an actor who began his career in Punjabi television with shows like Tedha Medha Sadda Vedha and Dildaariyan, has successfully transitioned to Hindi TV. He has appeared in series such as Tu Juliet Jatt Di, Kumkum Bhagya, and Jurm Aur Jazbaat. Currently, he is portraying the character of Mangal in Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hai, a spin-off of the popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.
On Being Part of Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hai
In an interview, Toor expressed his excitement about joining the spin-off. "It feels amazing to be part of the Kyunki... spin-off. I'm truly grateful and feel special to be working with Ekta Kapoor ma’am, which always gives you confidence that the project will be handled beautifully," he said. He highlighted the trust and quality associated with Ekta Kapoor's production house, expecting the project to be strong, polished, and impactful. Toor added, "I'm playing Mangal, and people are loving it. I’m enjoying my character a lot, and the team has been fantastic. Also, opening in the top 2 in India on the TRP chart feels very encouraging."
About His Current Role as Mangal
Toor shared details about his character and his history with Balaji Telefilms. "I have worked with Balaji earlier as well. I had also auditioned for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi earlier for a negative lead, but due to commitments with another project, I could not take it up at that time," he explained. In March, he received a call for the spin-off and immediately felt excited. "My character is named Mangal, and he is a strong person with anger issues, but at the same time, he deeply cares for his people. He also has natural leadership qualities, which makes the role very interesting and layered for me to perform," Toor elaborated.
On His Popularity in Punjab and Future Plans in Hindi Industry
Reflecting on his career and aspirations, Toor stated, "I believe in, 'Be best and best will come to you'. My plans are always good, and I’m hopeful for the best." He emphasized his passion for television, saying, "Television is very close to my heart, and I always want to give my best whenever I get an opportunity. I’m focused and prepared for the journey ahead." As an actor, he is seeking more important, layered, and meaningful roles. "I’m especially interested in positive as well as grey-shaded characters because I enjoy exploring different shades. I really enjoy playing such characters because they challenge me as an actor," he concluded.
