Pooja Katurde on Fitness and Authenticity in Pushpa Impossible

Actress Pooja Katurde, currently captivating audiences with her portrayal of a sharp, no-nonsense police officer and Pushpa's daughter-in-law in the popular television show Pushpa Impossible, emphasizes how physical fitness is integral to bringing her character to life with striking authenticity.

Fitness as a Foundation for Character Portrayal

In a recent discussion, Katurde revealed that maintaining fitness is not just about appearance but is essential for preparing for the role and convincingly embodying a police officer on-screen. She explained that fitness has become a vital part of understanding her character's inherent strength and discipline.

"Wearing the uniform itself puts you in a very different mindset," Katurde shared. "It automatically demands strength, confidence, and alertness. I knew that to play a police officer, I must stay fit and maintain a certain physique because the role demands it."

She elaborated on the behind-the-scenes effort, noting, "What the audience sees on screen is confidence, but a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes. I'm not someone who believes in extreme workouts, so I keep it simple with regular workouts, staying active, and clean eating to do justice to my role as a police officer in the show."

Katurde believes that when the body feels strong, it naturally reflects on screen without excessive effort, enhancing the believability of her performance.

The Family-Like Atmosphere on Set

Beyond fitness, Katurde also opened up about the unique and joyful environment on the sets of Pushpa Impossible. She described the cast and crew as one big, excited family, where the off-screen bond significantly contributes to on-screen chemistry.

"What audiences see on screen is exactly how we are off screen," she said. "The bond we share on set is something really special. People often assume that actors rush back to their rooms the moment we get a break, but for us, it's the complete opposite."

Katurde added that the set has become a comfort space for the team, with breaks filled with endless chatter, laughter, and playful activities. "We barely ever go back to our rooms because the set itself has become our comfort space. Our breaks are usually filled with endless chatter, laughter, and the silliest games you can imagine," she shared.

These interactions include rounds of dumb charades, antakshari, and light-hearted teasing, which Katurde credits for fostering a positive and joyful atmosphere. "That comfort and chemistry we share off-screen truly helps us perform better and keeps the environment positive and joyful. Pushpa Impossible feels less like work and more like being part of an extended family," she concluded.

Through her dedication to fitness and the supportive set dynamics, Pooja Katurde continues to deliver a compelling and authentic performance, resonating deeply with viewers of Pushpa Impossible.
