Stand-up comedian Pranit More, who secured the position of second runner-up in the popular reality show Bigg Boss 19, has revealed a newfound caution in his comedic approach, specifically regarding jokes aimed at host Salman Khan. In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, the finalist addressed whether the playful jabs at the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' star would continue.
A Lesson Learned: Comedy Without Controversy
Pranit More stated clearly that he does not plan to continue making jokes about Salman Khan. "No, we usually joke to entertain everybody, but if someone is getting hurt, then we wouldn't want to repeat that," he explained. "We joke for entertainment, not for controversy." This perspective comes in the wake of a memorable run on the show where host Salman Khan repeatedly and playfully pulled him up for cracking jokes at his expense over several episodes.
The comedian's cautious stance is deeply influenced by a traumatic incident earlier in 2025. After cracking jokes about actor Veer Pahariya, Pranit was physically assaulted and his ongoing show was vandalized by a mob. Reflecting on how this changed him, he shared, "We have become conscious now, and wonder if someone will get offended, but humor is very subjective." He added that he consciously avoids joking about religion and politics due to their sensitive nature, acknowledging that while he sometimes falters, he is working on it.
Inside the Bigg Boss 19 Journey: From Doubts to Growth
Recounting his Bigg Boss 19 experience, Pranit More admitted to having significant doubts before entering the famous house. "I had lots of doubts before entering the show. I used to Google things like what the temperature is in the house, what time they wake you up, etc," he revealed. Having never seen the show, he had humorous misconceptions, thinking he would be given a pen and paper to write jokes. He was surprised to learn about the absence of watches, newspapers, and the high-conflict environment.
For Pranit, the show was a profound learning curve. "I was very bad at confrontations in my life. I would distance myself or block someone if I didn't like them, but here I figured that you have to talk to the person with whom you fight," he said. He cited the commentary task with close friend and eventual winner Gaurav Khanna as his happiest moment. An emotional low point was when he was told to go back to his village during an argument, a comment that deeply pinched him.
Facing Trolls and Embracing Success
During his time on the show, Pranit faced consistent trolling regarding his appearance and skin color. Addressing this, he displayed resilience. "I don't pay heed to being trolled for my looks; if someone sees it that way, it's their problem, and mentality, I don't give it so much importance," he stated. However, he expressed regret over his fight with co-contestant Malti Chahar, noting he had apologized and that things were improving.
Now, as a recognized reality show star, Pranit cherishes the values forged during his earlier struggles. "There was a point in life where there was a lot of struggle, had to fight a lot for everything... Now, I think that because I struggled so much, I am so grounded today," he reflected. His current success allows him to provide for his parents, a milestone he takes great pride in. Following the intense competition, his immediate plans include a vacation and a Goa trip with fellow Bigg Boss 19 contestants.
