Matt Murdock is far from finished defending Hell's Kitchen. 'Daredevil: Born Again' has been confirmed for a third season, following the conclusion of its second season on Disney Plus. Charlie Cox will reprise his dual role as Matt Murdock and Daredevil, while Vincent D'Onofrio remains a central figure as Wilson Fisk and Kingpin. The series has successfully preserved the darker, grittier tone of the original Netflix 'Daredevil' while carving a fresh niche for Marvel's street-level heroes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3 Renewal Update
According to Men's Health, 'Daredevil: Born Again' was officially renewed for a third season in September 2025. This early renewal allowed the production team to move forward swiftly, and filming has already commenced in New York City. This news marks a significant milestone for fans of Charlie Cox's portrayal of the character. After three seasons of the Netflix series, uncertainty loomed over whether Cox would reprise his role. Marvel later reintroduced him in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' followed by appearances in 'She-Hulk: Attorney At Law' and 'Echo.'
Continuing the Legacy
'Daredevil: Born Again' does not merely replicate the Netflix show but reunites Cox and D'Onofrio for narratives centered on crime, power, justice, and personal loss. The series has embraced mature themes, including significant character deaths and the return of complex antagonists like Bullseye, portrayed by Wilson Bethel.
'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3 Cast and Release Date
Season 3 is poised to reintroduce familiar faces from Marvel's street-level universe. Krysten Ritter, known for her role as Jessica Jones, was spotted filming on location in New York City. Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) were also seen on set, hinting at a possible reunion of The Defenders, the superhero team last seen during Marvel's Netflix era. Disney+ has not yet announced an official release date for 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3. Men's Health reports that the new season is anticipated around March 2027, following the release pattern of the first two seasons.
Prior to that, fans can look forward to Jon Bernthal's return as Frank Castle in 'The Punisher: One Last Kill.' This Disney+ Special Presentation arrives on Tuesday, May 12, with Bernthal also serving as a co-writer.
