Kalashtami is purely dedicated to the worship of Kaal Bhairav, a fierce form of Lord Shiva. Puja Rituals
- Wake up early and take a holy bath.
- Clean the house and puja room thoroughly.
- Place an idol of Lord Kaal Bhairav on a wooden plank and light a diya with mustard oil.
- Offer flowers, sweets, and other sacred items to the deity.
- Chant Bhairav mantras and recite the Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam.
- Visit a Kaal Bhairav temple and light a four-faced mustard oil diya in front of the idol. Offer sweet roti as bhog prasad.
- In the evening, break the fast with halwa, sweet roti, or sweet paratha.
