Two Ayurveda research students from Hassan, Karnataka, helped a nine-month pregnant woman deliver her baby safely on a train heading to Varanasi on July 6, 2026. The incident occurred when the train was approaching Vijayawada, and the woman suddenly developed labour pain.
Timely Intervention by Medical Students
The students, identified as researchers from an Ayurveda institute in Hassan, were traveling on the same train. They immediately stepped in to assist the woman, using their medical knowledge to manage the delivery. The train staff and other passengers also cooperated to ensure a safe environment.
According to reports, the woman and her newborn were later taken to a nearby hospital in Vijayawada for postnatal care. Both are reported to be in stable condition.
