Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a gathering of volunteers and followers at the Art of Living centre in Bengaluru, urged the community to spearhead a national movement towards natural farming and water conservation. Speaking at Vishalakshi Mantap, he emphasised the urgent need to save soil from the overuse of chemical fertilisers.
Call for Natural Farming
Modi highlighted the detrimental effects of chemical fertilisers on soil health and called for a shift towards organic and natural farming practices. He praised the Art of Living foundation for its environmental initiatives and encouraged its members to lead by example in promoting sustainable agriculture.
Water Conservation Efforts
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of water conservation, urging the audience to adopt measures such as rainwater harvesting and efficient irrigation techniques. He noted that water scarcity is a growing concern and collective action is essential to address it.
