In a suspected case of food poisoning, approximately 25 individuals, including 15 children, were hospitalised after consuming pani puri in Thangallapally mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, Hyderabad.
Incident Details
The affected children and their family members reportedly ate pani puri from a street vendor in KCR Nagar Colony. Soon after, they developed symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhoea and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
“Initially, about 15 children fell sick. Now, about 10 others who had consumed pani puri are also unwell,” said Thangallapally police, adding that no case has been registered so far.
Police and Food Safety Response
Police confirmed that the pani puri and other food materials used by the vendor were seized. “The food safety officials have collected samples for testing. We have not received any complaint so far. No arrests have been made, but we called in the vendor for questioning regarding the incident,” they added.
Authorities are awaiting test results to determine the exact cause of the illness. The vendor has been summoned for further investigation.
