A tragic incident occurred in Nasirpur village of Muzaffarnagar district on Monday, where a four-year-old boy lost his life after being electrocuted at an Anganwadi centre located within a government primary school campus. The deceased, identified as Satyam Kumar, came into contact with an electric current passing through a pole installed inside the school premises when he went towards the area to use the washroom. He died instantly.
Family Protests Alleging Negligence
Following the incident, family members of the deceased rushed to the local police station and staged a protest, alleging serious negligence on the part of the electricity department and the Anganwadi centre. They demanded strict action against those responsible. Senior officials assured the family of a fair investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Official Investigation Underway
Phugana CO Yatendra Nagar stated, “During inspection, it was found that an electric pole was installed inside the school premises. The child appears to have died after coming into contact with it.” Senior officials, including the SDM, inspected the site. CO Nagar added, “Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family, a case has been registered under Section 105 of BNS against employees of the power department and the Anganwadi centre, and further investigation is underway.”
The incident has raised serious questions about safety measures at Anganwadi centres and school premises. Authorities have assured that necessary actions will be taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
