In a special campaign against food adulteration, the Food Security and Drug Administration team in Kanpur destroyed approximately 175 kg of sauce suspected of being adulterated on Tuesday.
Raids on Manufacturing Units
A team from the food department raided a sauce and chutney manufacturing company located in Juhi. During the inspection, officials found around 175 kg of continental sauce and 200 kg of chili sauce, valued at Rs 75,000. After conducting an inquiry and investigation, the team destroyed both products.
Another team conducted a raid at Vishal Bharat Industries in the Jajmau area. The food businessman was not present at the time, and no one provided any information. Consequently, the team seized the entire premises.
Sample Collection Across Multiple Locations
According to Sanjay Pratap Singh, Assistant Food Commissioner, several teams raided food centers in Dada Nagar, Dabauli, Sharda Nagar, Juhi, and Rooma. They collected 13 samples of pickles, sauce, and mustard oil, which have been sent to a laboratory for examination.
