In a tragic incident on Monday afternoon, a 29-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by lightning in Satara district, Maharashtra. The victim, identified as Sonali Ajit Karade, was rearing sheep in Karadwadi village, located in Khandala tehsil, when the fatal strike occurred. Separate Incident Injures Shepherd

In a separate but related incident, a shepherd named Nandkumar Pandurang Pisal from Asle village in Wai tehsil was injured after being struck by lightning. He was promptly shifted to a private hospital for medical treatment, underscoring the dangers posed by the ongoing thunderstorms.

Livestock Losses Mount

The lightning strikes have also resulted in significant livestock casualties. Nine sheep were killed in these recent incidents, bringing the total number of sheep fatalities due to lightning in Satara district to 34 over the last two days.
