Teacher Dies of Heart Attack After Census Duty in Alwar

A 39-year-old government schoolteacher tragically passed away from a suspected heart attack in Halena town, Bharatpur district, shortly after returning from census duty on Thursday evening. The deceased, identified as Bhawani Singh, was a resident of Jhunjhunu district and taught at the Government Upper Primary School in Bevar village. He had been deployed for census duties at the time of the incident.

Incident Details

According to police reports, Singh returned to his rented accommodation around 6 PM and complained to neighbors about feeling anxious, restless, and experiencing chest pain. He was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Halena but lost consciousness en route. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Family Background

Singh’s father, Hemaram, stated that his son had no known history of heart disease. Bhawani Singh had retired from the Indian Navy before joining the state education department as a Grade III teacher. He received his first posting in Halena on July 5, 2024, and was due to complete his probation on July 5. He is survived by his two sons, aged 12 and 4.

Medical Examination

Dr. Ravish Yadav, the medical officer at Halena PHC, conducted a post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings indicated a heart attack, and the symptoms reported by those who brought Singh in were consistent with this diagnosis. After the post-mortem, Singh’s body was handed over to his family on Friday morning.

Halena SHO Brajendra Singh confirmed the details and noted that the teacher had been on census duty at the time of his death. The community is mourning the sudden loss of a dedicated educator.
