IMA Phagwara Hosts 'Run for Health' on Doctors' Day

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Phagwara, marked National Doctors' Day on Tuesday with a health awareness initiative called 'Run for Health,' aimed at promoting regular physical activity and healthy living among the public.

Chief Guest Highlights Preventive Healthcare

Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Member of Parliament, attended as the chief guest and applauded IMA Phagwara's efforts in promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging community fitness. He commended the medical fraternity for leading the charge in spreading awareness about healthy lifestyles.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from IMA Phagwara members, who reaffirmed their commitment to public health and wellness. Participants stressed that adopting a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise is crucial for preventing lifestyle-related diseases and improving overall well-being.

Separate Celebration at Shri Vishwakarma Charitable Hospital

National Doctors' Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm at Shri Vishwakarma Charitable Hospital Trust, Phagwara, where the invaluable contribution of doctors and medical professionals towards society was acknowledged. Trust president Pradeep Dhiman described doctors as the 'second form of God on earth' for their unwavering commitment to saving lives.

Pradeep Dhiman stated that the trust remains committed to providing affordable, accessible and quality healthcare services to the poor and underprivileged. He noted that the trust's reputation and public confidence have been built largely on the sincere efforts, expertise and compassionate approach of its doctors and healthcare professionals.

To mark the occasion, the Trust president, management committee members and senior doctors jointly cut a specially prepared National Doctors' Day cake. The ceremony was followed by felicitation of doctors for their dedicated services to patient care.

Among those present were Jaspal Singh Lal, Gurnam Singh Jutla, along with the hospital's nursing staff, pharmacists and several distinguished trust members. The celebration concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the hospital's commitment to delivering ethical, affordable and quality healthcare services to the community.
