Free Medical Camp in Jalandhar Benefits Over 850 Needy Patients
Jalandhar: 850 Patients Avail Free Health Services at Camp

A free eye examination and medical check-up camp organized at the Lala Ram Kishore Kapoor Viklang Sahaita Trust Bhawan in Jalandhar's Apahaj Ashram provided medical facilities to over 850 needy individuals.

Eye Examinations and Surgeries

During the camp, 375 people underwent eye checks. Among them, 110 patients with white cataracts and 15 with black cataracts received treatment. Cataracts were identified in 120 patients, and their operations will be completed free of charge using modern laser (Phaco) technology.

Cancer Screenings and Other Tests

The World Cancer Care Society examined 245 patients, conducting 18 mammographies and 23 breast cancer scans. Additionally, 175 patients benefited from bone density tests. General check-ups were provided to 50 patients, dental check-ups to 45, physiotherapy to 50, X-rays to 40, ECGs to 20, and blood tests to 45 patients.

Contributors and Inauguration

The camp was organized with contributions from Anju Sharma, principal and members of the Long Island Indo American Lions Club, Dr. Vijay Mahajan (CMD Tagore Hospital), Dr. SP Singh Oberoi (Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust), Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal (Global Ambassador, World Cancer Care Society), and Dr. Jagdeep Singh (eye specialist). It was inaugurated by Dr. Girish Bali (IRS Commissioner, Income Tax), Navjot Singh (Assistant Commandant, CRPF), Jagjit Singh Saroya (AIG STF), and Rakesh Sharma (Juganu).

Medicines and Gratitude

Medicines were distributed free of charge as per doctors' advice. Apahaj Ashram president Tarsem Kapur thanked all doctors, donors, committee members, staff, and everyone who contributed to the camp's arrangements.
