Kanpur District Magistrate Issues Strict Directives for Health Services During Festivals
In a decisive move to bolster healthcare delivery, the district magistrate of Kanpur has mandated the compulsory presence of doctors across all urban health centers, primary health centers, and the district hospital. This directive was issued during a high-level meeting of the district health committee, where officials were instructed to ensure full staff attendance to prevent any disruptions in medical services.
Zero Tolerance for Absenteeism and Negligence
District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh emphasized that any absence of doctors or staff at health facilities during the upcoming festival period would result in strict disciplinary action. He explicitly stated that negligence in healthcare services would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Medical superintendents have been tasked with overseeing staff compliance to maintain seamless operations.
Revitalizing Ayushman Bharat Scheme Implementation
Focusing on the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the DM directed health officials to promptly activate all inactive department-wise IDs. Additionally, a target has been set for each operator ID to generate at least two Ayushman cards daily, aiming to expand health insurance coverage for eligible beneficiaries. The Chief Medical Officer has been authorized to take corrective measures if any laxity is observed in this initiative.
Enhancing Vaccination Drives and Financial Accountability
To boost vaccination rates in urban units, medical officers in charge have been instructed to conduct separate review meetings to assess progress and ensure the timely utilization of funds allocated by the public health committee. The DM also placed special emphasis on financial management under the National Health Mission, mandating that all financial files be processed exclusively through the senior finance and accounts officer appointed by the mission director to enhance transparency and efficiency.
