The initiative forms part of Metro Railway's employee outreach and welfare programme, aimed at strengthening healthcare support and improving medical services for its beneficiaries. The presence of senior medical directors from Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway underscored the collaborative effort to enhance healthcare delivery within the railway system.

Dr. Nataraj B highlighted the importance of such facilities in reducing the burden on existing tertiary care centers and ensuring timely access to specialized treatments. Dr. Anjana Mal noted that the new units would significantly improve patient outcomes, particularly for those requiring emergency and critical care. Dr. Gopa Majumdar added that the facility aligns with the broader goals of the railway healthcare system to provide comprehensive medical services.

The Metro Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (MRWWO), led by its President Smt. Madhumita Mishra, also played a key role in supporting the initiative. The organization has been actively involved in various welfare activities, and this healthcare expansion is seen as a major step forward in ensuring the health and safety of railway employees and their families.

With the addition of these new units, Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital is poised to offer a wider range of medical services, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized care. The hospital now boasts enhanced capabilities in ophthalmology and critical care, contributing to the overall improvement of healthcare infrastructure in the region.
