The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has uncovered alleged violations at a skincare facility in Banjara Hills during a surprise inspection conducted across several dermatology clinics in Hyderabad. The inspection targeted clinics offering skin-related treatments to ensure compliance with medical regulations.
Violations at V Care Clinic
During the inspection at V Care Clinic on Road No. 1, officials discovered that skin-related treatments were allegedly being administered by three dental practitioners and two homeopathy doctors. Such procedures require qualified allopathic medical specialists, as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines. The TGMC noted these violations and decided to register cases against the five practitioners under Sections 34 and 54 of the NMC Act.
Action Against Facilitating Doctors
The TGMC has also initiated action against doctors registered with the clinic who are suspected of facilitating or overlooking these unethical practices. Following an inquiry, disciplinary action, including suspension from medical practice under medical ethics regulations, may be considered.
Recommendation for Seizure and Legal Action
In addition, the TGMC has recommended that the Hyderabad district collector and the district medical and health officer (DMHO) immediately seize the clinic and initiate legal proceedings against its management for permitting unauthorised medical practice.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of TGMC vice-chairman Dr Kiran Kumar Thotawar, TGMC member Dr Vishnu Kadali, and HRDA member Dr Jalagam Vijaya.
