UP Education Dept Launches Portal for Teachers' Cashless Medical Scheme
UP Education Dept Portal for Teachers' Cashless Medical Scheme

The Uttar Pradesh education department has expedited the implementation of the Chief Minister's cashless medical scheme for teachers by developing a dedicated portal for the registration of eligible personnel and their dependents. The department has also designed the cover and back page of the health card, which will be issued to over 15 lakh teachers and non-teaching staff deployed in state-run primary and secondary schools. The health card for medical treatment will be issued by the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services, and the cashless treatment facility will be available in both government and private hospitals.

Portal Details and Coverage

The portal, accessible at http://cmtcts.upsdc.gov.in, has been developed specifically for basic education teachers. A similar portal will soon be ready for teachers of secondary education. The scheme covers a wide range of personnel, including teachers, Shiksha Mitras, special educators, and instructors working in schools recognized by the Basic Education Council. It also includes wardens and full-time or part-time teachers in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, as well as cooks under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana.

Registration Process

To avail of the scheme's benefits, teachers must ensure that the details they enter match the information recorded on their Aadhaar cards. Once the application is submitted, it will be automatically forwarded to the concerned Block Education Officer (BEO) for verification and approval. The employee will receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile number confirming the successful submission and forwarding of the application to the BEO.

Approval and Card Issuance

After approval by the BEO, the application will be forwarded to the concerned District Basic Education Officer (BSA) for final approval. Issuing directives to additional directors (basic) at 18 administrative divisions, Additional Chief Secretary of Basic and Secondary Education Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma stated that after the application is approved by the BSA, the employee will receive a Family ID via SMS, along with instructions on how to apply for the card. Following this, the employee must visit the NHA beneficiary portal, where they will have to complete the Aadhaar e-KYC. Upon completion, the employee will get an option to download the Chief Minister's Teacher Cashless Medical Card.
