CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Doctor-Patient Trust as Key to Healthcare in UP
Yogi Adityanath: Doctor's Behavior Cures Half the Illness

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh underscored the pivotal role of medical professionals and healthcare institutions in delivering affordable and dependable medical services during a public address on Thursday. He inaugurated the newly established KDSG Super Specialty Hospital in Greater Noida, using the occasion to reflect on the transformative journey of the state's health sector.

The Human Touch in Healing

Adityanath articulated a profound insight into the doctor-patient relationship, stating that a physician's conduct and the confidence instilled in those seeking care can alleviate a significant portion of an ailment even prior to the administration of medication. "When a patient approaches a doctor, he does so with immense trust. A doctor's compassionate behavior alone can cure half the illness. It is imperative that the guidance provided by the doctor is both accurate and easily accessible to the patient," he remarked. This philosophy places a strong emphasis on empathy and communication as foundational elements of effective medical treatment.

Expansion of Medical Infrastructure

The Chief Minister provided a detailed overview of the advancements in healthcare infrastructure, both nationally and within Uttar Pradesh. He noted that until 2014, India had only six All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in operation. "Due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country now boasts 23 functional AIIMS, marking a substantial increase in premier medical education and treatment centers," Adityanath explained.

Ayushman Bharat's Impact in Uttar Pradesh

Highlighting the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the CM revealed that over 60 crore citizens across India are now beneficiaries of its medical facilities. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a frontrunner in this initiative. "Our state leads the nation with more than 5.60 crore Golden Cards issued under Ayushman Bharat, the highest count in the country. This achievement has fostered a healthy competitive environment in the healthcare sector, which is a primary driver behind the proliferation of super specialty facilities here," he asserted. The government has also worked to narrow the disparity between government-mandated treatment rates and the often arbitrary pricing in the private sector, ensuring more balanced and fair healthcare costs.

From 'One District-One Mafia' to Development Hubs

Adityanath drew a stark contrast between Uttar Pradesh's past and its current trajectory. He recalled that before 2017, the state was infamous for the 'one district-one mafia' phenomenon, with previous administrations capitulating to such elements. "Today, Uttar Pradesh is renowned for 'One District-One Medical College,' 'One District-One Product,' and now 'One District-One Cuisine.' This shift symbolizes our commitment to development, education, and cultural promotion," the Chief Minister declared.

Gautam Budh Nagar: A Nucleus of Growth

Focusing on the host district, Gautam Budh Nagar, Adityanath highlighted its significance as a major development center. "India's largest airport is set to commence operations soon at Jewar. Furthermore, approximately 55% of the nation's mobile manufacturing and 60% of electronic component production occur within this district. We are also developing a Film City, a Medical Device Park, and a Logistics Hub here," he detailed. He reflected on the state's evolution, noting, "There was a period when Uttar Pradesh grappled for a distinct identity. Today, the same state is rapidly advancing to become the growth engine of India's economy."
