First Private Veterinary Institute in Pune Division Gets Nod

In a significant development for higher education and veterinary infrastructure in Maharashtra, Shri Warana Vibhag Shikshan Mandal has received official approval to establish the first private veterinary and animal sciences institute in the Pune division. The institute, named Tatyasaheb Kore Institute of Veterinary and Animal Science, will offer a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree program with an approved intake capacity of 80 students.

Approval Process

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying issued the letter of permission following rigorous inspections by expert committees from the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur. These committees evaluated the institute's infrastructure, including modern laboratories, a veterinary teaching hospital, qualified faculty, and trained staff before granting recognition.

Announcement by MLA Vinay Kore

Vinay Kore, Member of the Legislative Assembly and chairman of the Warana Industrial and Educational Complex, announced the development. He emphasized that the approval came after thorough verification of facilities. Kore stated, "The committees verified the availability of modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, a veterinary teaching hospital, qualified faculty members and trained staff before granting recognition."
