In a heartfelt tribute to its founder, a prominent hospital in Bihar's capital will offer free outpatient services to all visitors next Monday. This special initiative coincides with the first death anniversary of the revered social servant, Acharya Kishore Kunal.
Free OPD Services as a Mark of Respect
Mahavir Vatsalya Aspatal in Patna has announced that it will not charge any fee for OPD (Outpatient Department) services on Monday, December 29. This gesture is dedicated to honouring the memory and contributions of the hospital's founder, Acharya Kishore Kunal, who passed away on the same date last year.
Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, the hospital director, shared the details of this commemorative act. He emphasized that while the hospital already charges a nominal fee of just Rs. 100 for OPD on regular days, this amount will be completely waived on the anniversary. Dr. Prasad noted that all other medical services at the hospital are also provided at significantly subsidized rates, aligning with Kunal's vision of affordable healthcare.
Statue Unveiling and Blood Donation Camp
The day's events will include a solemn ceremony to unveil a statue of Acharya Kishore Kunal on the hospital campus. The honour of unveiling the statue will be performed by his wife, Anita Kunal. This permanent memorial will serve as an inspiration for the institution's continued service.
Furthering the spirit of social service that Kunal championed, the hospital will also organize a blood donation camp on its premises. The camp will be formally inaugurated by Saayan Kunal, the secretary of the Mahavir Sansthan Nyas Samiti.
Remembering a Legacy of Public Welfare
Acharya Kishore Kunal was a multifaceted personality widely respected for his dedication to public welfare. A former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, he is best known as the founder secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust. His work extended beyond religious management into significant social service and charitable contributions, leaving a lasting impact on the community. The hospital's initiatives on Monday are a direct reflection of the values he embodied throughout his life.
The combined events—free medical consultation, the statue installation, and the blood donation drive—aim to celebrate his legacy by directly benefiting the public, a cause he held dear.
