Devanshi, a final-year MBBS student at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital (SLBSGMC&H) in Nerchowk, Mandi, won a gold medal at the MED-ASCENT 2026 undergraduate medical conference, held from June 20 to 21 at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital (Dr. RPGMC&H), Tanda. The conference saw participation from undergraduate medical students across various colleges.
Exceptional Performance in Two Categories
Devanshi earned the top honour for her outstanding performance in the Clinical Case Presentation and Research Poster Presentation categories. Her achievement highlights academic excellence, clinical competence, and dedication to medical research. Notably, this marks her second consecutive win at the conference, having also emerged victorious in the Clinical Case Presentation and Research Question Presentation categories in the previous edition.
Felicitation Ceremony at SLBSGMC
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar felicitated Devanshi at a special ceremony in his office. He described the award as a proud moment for the institution, praising her dedication, perseverance, and academic brilliance. He stated that Devanshi's success reflects the quality of education and research culture at SLBS Government Medical College, expressing confidence that it will inspire other students to participate in academic conferences and research projects.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ranesh Chauhan, Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, and Dr. Ghanshyam Verma and Dr. Rakesh Yadav, Assistant Professors from the Department of Community Medicine, along with other faculty members.
