MNMC Student Wins Best Case Award at DRILLS 2026

Prayagraj: Dr. Vagish Barnwal, a third-year DM (gastroenterology) student at Motilal Nehru Medical College (MNMC), Prayagraj, has secured the Best Case Award at the prestigious seventh DRILLS 2026 conference held in New Delhi. The conference, which stands for Decisions, Reasoning, Innovations & Learning in Liver Diseases, was organized by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) on June 13 and 14.

The event witnessed participation from approximately 1,500 delegates from India and abroad. Nearly 400 complex and challenging liver disease cases were presented during the conference. Among these, the case presented by Dr. Barnwal was adjudged the best, highlighting his academic excellence, clinical expertise, and dedication to the field of gastroenterology.

In recognition of his mentorship, Dr. S.P. Mishra, Head of the Department and a renowned hepatologist, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation at the conference. Dr. Mishra applauded Dr. Vagish Barnwal for bringing laurels to the institution by winning the award. He noted that securing the top honor among nearly 400 case presentations in the presence of 1,500 delegates reflects the high academic standards, clinical competence, and commitment of the college’s students.
