In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure in Jharkhand, the state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi is set to receive 100 new ventilators along with introducing financial assistance for bereaved families.
Major Decisions at Governing Body Meeting
The crucial decisions were finalized during the 63rd Governing Body meeting held on Wednesday under the leadership of Health Minister Irfan Ansari. The meeting saw participation from prominent figures including MP Sanjay Seth, MLA Suresh Baitha, RIMS director Dr. Raj Kumar, and other senior council members.
The governing body approved the procurement of 100 new ventilators to enhance the hospital's critical care capabilities. Simultaneously, it was decided that families of patients who pass away at the facility will receive financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to help cover funeral expenses.
Minister's Directives for Healthcare Transformation
Health Minister Irfan Ansari emphasized the urgency of implementing these decisions effectively. "Decisions must now be visible on the ground, not just remain on paper," he stated during the meeting. Ansari stressed that no patient should suffer due to the absence of essential medical equipment and instructed officials to ensure prompt installation of the newly sanctioned ventilators.
The minister issued strict instructions to improve several aspects of hospital operations including:
- Ensuring better doctor attendance and punctuality
- Enforcing the ban on private medical practice by staff
- Enhancing cleanliness and maintaining discipline throughout the hospital premises
Ansari described RIMS as "the centre of state's hope" and outlined the vision to transform it into one of India's premier healthcare institutions. "Our goal is to elevate it to the ranks of the country's best hospitals - a place where treatment symbolizes service, care, and compassion," he affirmed.
Future Digitalization and Infrastructure Plans
The governing body has already outlined an ambitious roadmap for the next meeting, focusing on several transformative initiatives:
Key upcoming projects include complete digitalization of patient medical records, establishment of a dedicated Patient Facilitation Centre, and construction of new hospital buildings to improve both operational efficiency and patient experience.
In a parallel development, during a separate meeting concerning the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), all districts received directives to ensure 100% completion of the Health Professional Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR) within one week. Districts have also been instructed to submit accurate NHRR data within two days and implement all C-DAC Health Management Information System modules in hospitals by November 30.
These comprehensive measures represent a significant step toward modernizing healthcare services in Jharkhand and strengthening the state's medical infrastructure to better serve its citizens.
